We’re presenting live techno mavericks Elektro Guzzi at Movement Culture Torino
Red Bull Music Academy teams up with Movement Culture to present Vienna’s organic techno mavericks Elektro Guzzi’s experimental audio-visual exploration Observatory at Turin’s spectacular Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. Made up of one avant-metal drummer, one experimental guitarist and one Academy alum on bass, Elektro Guzzi interpret techno in unusual ways. Their instrument-based approach to cathartic club rhythms is culled not from the digital drawing board, but conceived by way of a live setup. The Viennese trio has found a home for their recording output on Stefan Goldmann’s Macro label since 2010, as well as a sneaky cassette Circling Above on Tapeworm.
This year, Movement Torino Music Festival marks its 10th anniversary, providing a wide range of national and international talents playing in the breathtaking historical sights of the city of Turin from October 24th to November 1st, including the likes of Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Robert Hood and Dixon, as well as Academy alumni Carola Pisaturo, Mano Le Tough, and Nina Kraviz, amongst many others.
