Kappa, with the brands Robe di Kappa, Jesus Jeans, Superga and K-way, is one of the biggest brands owned by BasicNet S.p.A., the Turin based Group gone public in November 1999.
Still today the well known logo, two people sitting back to back, is particularly recognized in the sport environment, sponsoring the Italian Rugby Federation, more than 100 international football teams and a lot of other sport disciplines such as cycling, ski, motorcycling, tennis, volleyball, fencing and sailing with the Mascalzone Latino Capitalia Team, challenger in America’s Cup 2007 edition.
In the entertainment world, Kappa has been a technical partner from 1999 until 2002 of the Winter Music Conference in Miami, from 2000 until 2004 of the AmsterdamDanceEvent, world’s most important electronic music conference. In 2001 it signed an international co-marketing deal with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, in 2003 Kappa promoted PiemonteGroove, the electronic music community led by DJ Mauro Picotto, one of the most known electronic music artist and founder of Meganite, Kappa’s world ambassador. From to 2003 to 2005 Kappa has been a technical sponsor of Zurich’s StreetParade, the biggest electronic music Open Air parade. Since 2006 Kappa is Movement Torino’s partner, Movement Torino being the most important Halloween Festival in Europe. At the end of 2008 Kappa collaborates with the first edition of FuturFestival2009, Italian favorite New Year’s Eve party.
